I Must Let You Know

Filed under: Blog Business — mrslady @ 9:14 pm

We are switching our internet provider. We have had nothing but problems with the phone/internet service with this company and we are finally changing. The phone won’t be a problem-we’ll be switched in a matter of days.

I have to warn you about the internet though because I may be gone a while again and I want you to know there IS a reason. The old company said it will take 2-3 days to turn off the internet. The new company said it would take 5-14 days to put in the new internet. So the gap could be as little as 2 days or as much as 12….sorry I can’t be more specific!

I’ll let you know when I’m back around!

Small Frustrations

Filed under: Blog Business, Pregnancy — mrslady @ 12:02 am

As of late, all of my “small frustrations” are being hormonally charged and becoming “things I cry about“.  Obviously, cry in more of the loose definition-I might not actually physically cry [though I have-and probably will continue to throughout my pregnancy for no particular reason at all] but I will perpetually whine about it until my husband looks at me and says “honey, are you okay?  what are you really upset about?”  At which point I really DO cry because nothing is really wrong per se-besides the fact that I am becoming insane because of these hormones and I feel bad for making him worry over nothing.  Bad enough to cry.  Good thing my husband really really really loves me.  A lot

I am annoying myself with my crazy hormones.  It’s very difficult to annoy yourself.  It’s like tickling yourself-you have to actually put in some effort to get any results.  But I have leaped over the bar and gone straight to making myself annoyed with myself.  Good going me-I can only imagine how everyone else in my family feels.

I can see me through the eyes of my three year old.  He walks up to me and I say (in my most cheerful voice) “Hi pooh bear! Come sit on mommy’s lap” and he does [because he is a very innocent bystander, completely unware of the hormone effects of pregnancy].  Then he says “Mama?  Butter and jelly please?”

Then I burst into tears.

My three year old thinks that this is either A.) His fault or B.) A sign that his normally even-keeled mother has, infact, been bodysnatched.  Maybe both.  I’d think both if I were looking at myself objectively.  He doesn’t know that I started crying because when he sat in my lap all of a sudden I got very VERY very VERY hot, which made me extremely nauseous, which made me think how sad it will be when my belly gets too big and pregnant to hold my oldest baby on my lap, which made me think how tragic it will be if my son thinks I don’t love him anymore because I can’t have him in my lap all the time-especially when the Jellybean will be there instead.  I don’t want him to think that I don’t love him anymore!

Hence the crying.  Well, it doesn’t really make any sense to adults either-let alone a three year old! It’s official-I am crazy!

I guess that’s why my blog is bothering me.  I really REALLY want to get a new style sheet, but they want me to pay $15 per year to do it and I am the cheapest. person. ever. when it comes to things like that.  But all of the backgrounds they have as defaults are horrible!  See?  Whine whine whine.

The Black Hole

Filed under: Blog Business — mrslady @ 5:17 pm

That’s my only explaination for where I’ve been.  I know that I have been gone a rediculously long time, but you’re going to have to trust that I have been extra-super busy because sadly nothing I’ve been doing is even remotely interesting enough to put into blog unlike last time I took an extended absence.  All boring stuff, all extremely time consuming….that’s about it.

I’m back now though, at least for a while.  It is my personal goal to make a To Do about Tuesday, WFMW, and a Frugal Friday post this week-here’s hoping!  You may have noticed that I have done away with everything except the main blog and the about me section-but you probably didn’t.  Don’t worry.  No one (including myself) has been posting there, so I just figured I’d clean out the clutter a little bit.  If you have any longings to see either of them back again just let me know.  I’m not against their return, I’m just trying to do some more spring cleaning around here.

Anywho, that’s the blog business for now.  I’ll try to be back later today or tomarrow to post a little something, but if not I will see you all on [To Do about] Tuesday!

It Needed to Be Said

Filed under: Blog Business — mrslady @ 9:29 am

So I was sitting here purusing my blog to make sure that everything looked good and was in order (a wise, seasoned blogger told me once that you have to look at your own blog to make sure it all works right!) and what do I find?  Flaws!

I know.  You’re shocked.

However, the largest  most noticeable of all of the many flaws things that needed attention was that there was no accessable “About Me” section.  I immediately went about fixing that particular situation.

Writing “About Me”s is something that I generally dispise, because I always find it difficult to summerize myself in a pleasant but honest way.  I’m kind of more partial to everyone just drawing their own conclusions about me, but I don’t think that’s very fair in the blog world.

So now it’s there in black and white-Well, blue and white at the top of the page.  If you click on it you will find out all sorts of juicy tidbits about me……….

……..okay not really.  But there is stuff up there-none of it being juicy though.

In The Groove

Filed under: Blog Business, Family, Good Ideas, House and Home — mrslady @ 12:33 pm

As I’m sure you can tell, I had to change my blog look again, because every time I looked at my page there was something bothering me.  I couldn’t figure out what it was until I realized the print was so tiny I my brain was starting to hurt more than normal.  Maybe it was just me-I am kind of blind-but I had to fix it.  I think this layout looks nice, but we’ll see how it sits with me over the next couple of days.  Your input would be very appreciated seeing as how you deal with it too.  I wouldn’t want anyone to develop the squint eye trying to read my blog 🙂

In further adventures IRL, my lovely other half has ordered me to relax and do things that I want to do today.  I’ll admit it’s been a long time since I’ve even thought about what interests me…….the best I could come up with was going grocery shopping by myself.  Oh yes, that’s right-by myself like a grown up and everything. That means no screaming howler monkey curious toddler in the cart grabbing things off of the shelves and forcing me to buy them by throwing them on the ground or in other ways destroying them.  Who wants a jar of broken pickles?  Me either.  The twisted part is that it sounds so relaxing-I must be getting really boring.  Driving to the store blasting my music without worry of deafening my child, walking around the store without the worry that at any moment my child could be “done with shopping”.  [Grocery shopping with a toddler is like shopping with a dinner timer, but you can’t see the timer.  All of a sudden you just hear the “wwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh” and you know it’s all over.]  I’m so happy that I don’t have to do the “supermarket sweep” style of shopping-I’m going to lesiurely walk up and down every isle at least twice and actually bother to look at what I’m buying before I throw it in the cart.  I’m not going to leave the store until I make sure that I have not forgotten even the smallest and least significant item.

I’m even taking a list.  I LOVE making my grocery list.  My new method is a fairly recent addition to my organizational arsonal (though others may have been doing it this way for years), but a lovely one if I do say so myself.  What I do is I write out the days until I next go grocery shopping (usually to coincide with payday) and then I make a meal plan for each day.  Then I look at the meal plan, go through my fridge and write down the things I need. This also helps if we’re especially budget conscious that week because then I can see what meals we can make with the things we already have.  It also prevents me from ending up with five bottles of vanilla and no butter (don’t laugh!  I’ve done it!).

And now-onward to my mommy safari 🙂

Back to Blogging

Filed under: Blog Business — mrslady @ 11:28 am

Hi all!  Thanks for being so patient with me while I was gone 🙂

I’m back now-with a new and improved layout.  (I felt “springy”!)  I have cut down on the number of pages, but there will still be hot topics! on the kids page and the Bible discussion for parents lives on as well.

I’ll be blogging about my fun and exciting bloggy-vacation-like-thing (aka my excursion into real life) a little later today and setting up the new hot topic! and Bible discussion.

Until then-what do you think of my slighly improved blog layout?

Extended Leave of Absence

Filed under: Blog Business — mrslady @ 6:34 am

I am SOOO sorry that I haven’t been able to post in a while.  I have been busy like you wouldn’t believe.  Nothing “blog or die” to write about at the moment either, so I have been on hiatus (I can’t spell it, but I can still do it).

Don’t worry though-it will be a short hiatus.  I will be back tomarrow for To Do about Tuesdays, and plan on doing WFMW and Frugal Fridays this week too.  ON TIME even.  (Well, that’s the goal.)

Update: Yeah, this week really isn’t working for me either.  I am sooo sorry.  I will explain later.  Blogs to come, I promise.

This Party Rocks!

Filed under: Blog Business — mrslady @ 12:11 pm

I just have to say that.  This week has been a fabulous week!  Today, we hit a blog-view high with 255 views so far.  Also-we have JUPMED the 1,000 mark overnight!  Our total recorded views stand at 1,070 as of right now-YAY!

I really want to say thank you to everyone who visits my blog, and to everyone that keeps coming back!  It has been a blast so far chit-chatting and sharing stories and looking at your blogs as well!

In other blog news, I have posted the new Hot Topics! as promised.  Until I figure out a formatting solution, you will have to scroll down to the bottom of the comments to see the newest Topic [sorry about that].  I have some topics posted that I am pretty excited to get feedback on.

*You can go to the Pregnancy Hot Topics! and share your feelings about the new4-D ultrasounds (are they neat and handy, or over exposing babies to potential ultrasound effects?).

*In the Under 5 topic, you can post about how you treat your young child’s colds-what have you found to be most effective?

*On the 5-12 Year Olds page is (I think) the most interesting topic: when and how do you do the birds and bees talk?

*And last, but certainly not least, on the Teenagers Hot Topics! we’re talking about teenage rebellion-is it a phase or is it something you can avoid?

I look forward to hearing all of your feedback on these Hot Topics!~I’m sure you all will have some awesome insights!

Also-I am currently formulating the “something cool” to do in celebration of meeting 1,000 views……..I think I’m going to do a participation post….hmmmm……check back later. 🙂

Best Regards,

Awwww, Sweet!

Filed under: Blog Business, General Info — mrslady @ 2:32 pm

Today’s Search Engine hit was “ideas to keep tired mom organized”.  And it came up with ME!  (Well, my blog.)  I am so honored!  That is WAY more on topic than ‘pancake coloring page’ although maybe not as funny 🙂  I am glad to help tired moms, as I am a mom and get often get tired myself!

In some other blog business news, I am happy to report that my little blog is coming into her own.  As of now I have had a total of 820 views on the blog itself, which is an average of a little more than 58 views per day!  [Averages almost never work out evenly!]  I am always looking for ways to keep my blog new and exciting, so if you have any ideas, please share.

*A big thanks to everyone who has already commented/put in their 2 cents on my blog!*

I am thinking of having some sort of extra-cool something when I hit a thousand views-thoughts???

I have put new discussion topics in all of the forums (the main age group pages).  I will post posting new Hot Topics! (the ones that you get through the link) in all age groups tomarrow~in addition to “Works for Me Wednesdays”~so check back!

Hot Topics!

Filed under: Blog Business — mrslady @ 10:38 am

When I first posted Hot Topics!  I wanted them to be a weekly thing.  I realize now that may have been a little too ambitious for a brand-new blog to tackle.  So as of now, I’m going to go ahead and make Hot Topics! weekly OR UNTIL SOMEONE POSTS ON THEM.

This means that Pregnancy and Kids Under 5 are getting new Hot Topics!  Check them out, and check out 5-12 and Teenagers and post on the topics there which are being held over.
